An Exclusive Interview With Devangi Dalal

Devangi Dalal is a distinguished Indian Audiologist and Speech-Language Pathologist with over 33 years of experience. As the Centre Director of Hearing Hearts, an advanced centre for hearing, speech, and health management, she has been a beacon of hope for individuals with hearing impairments. She is also the Founder-Trustee of JOSH Foundation, an organization that has transformed the lives of over 2,000 underprivileged hearing-impaired children. Her global recognition includes the prestigious Humanitarian Award from the American Academy of Audiology (AAA) in 2012, making her the first Indian to receive this honour. Devangi is also the only Indian Audiologist appointed as a Hearing Health Advocate for the Coalition for Global Hearing Health (CGHH), associated with the WHO, and a liaison member of the Make Listening Safe group of the World Hearing Forum. Passionate about spreading awareness, she has launched the "Change is Hear" campaign featuring two films—Early Matter: For a Better Future and A Sound Start: For a Better Living—to highlight the importance of early diagnosis and the right hearing technology. An accomplished author, Devangi has written extensively on hearing health and positive thinking in multiple languages. Through her work, she strives to create a more inclusive world for the hearing impaired.
