Viva ESPANA!

After transforming two run-down Italian properties into luxurious homes, Amanda Holden and Alan Carr have proved they have a real flair for renovation. Now, they're taking on their most ambitious project so far in BBC1 spin-off series Amanda & Alan's Spanish Job: turning an abandoned three-storey town house into a beautiful B&B.

When the pair arrive in the picturesque village of Moclín in the southern Spanish region of Andalusia, they are instantly inspired by their surroundings and keen to get to work. But with a limited budget and a tight schedule, have they set themselves an impossible goal?

TV Times caught up with best friends Amanda, 53, and Alan, 48, to find out if their plans had solid foundations...

You've swapped Italy for Spain this time, and you're trying to create a boutique B&B rather than a home. Did it feel like a very different experience?

AMANDA Yes, we bought the house and then decided to make it into a B&B; we thought it lent itself to that because of the scale of it. Obviously, there was way more to do, but in the same amount of time we've always been given, so it was panic stations - more bashing, more tiling, more everything!

ALAN We thought going to Spain was a stroke of genius because it still has all the Latin flavours, but because we've done this twice before, we needed new challenges. It was bigger and better - roof terraces were mentioned!
