PHILIPPA DUNNE and LUCY PUNCH on their Motherland follow-up
-
AMANDALAND NEW WEDNESDAY, 9PM, BBC1 COMEDY (BOX SET, BBC IPLAYER)
With her withering remarks and staggering superiority complex, pretentious PTA supremo Amanda stole many a scene in the BAFTA-winning parenthood sitcom Motherland.
Now, in BBC1's much-anticipated spin-off series Amandaland, written by the same team, the ultra-competitive mum (played by Lucy Punch) takes centre stage, but she's battling to keep up appearances after being forced to downsize and move to a less swanky area of London following her divorce.
With her children navigating life at secondary school and her caustic mother, Felicity (Dame Joanna Lumley), making increasing demands on her time, Amanda reconnects with her loyal sidekick Anne (Philippa Dunne), who provides sterling support as her friend fights to become Queen Bee again.
Here, Lucy and Philippa tell us what to expect...
