Gina Rodriguez is a straight-talking district attorney as Will Trent returns

The last time we saw scrupulous special agent Will Trent (Ramón Rodríguez), the heartbroken crimefighter was leaving Atlanta after arresting his lover, homicide detective Angie (Erika Christensen), for tampering with evidence in a serial-killer case.

As the series returns, six months have passed, and Will is now working as a private eye in Tennessee. However, it's not long before he's back at the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to work on a case involving an old friend, who's now a gang leader accused of murder.
