On a somber morning in Karjat, near Mumbai, the world of cinema lost one of its brightest stars. Renowned art director Nitin Chandrakant Desai was found dead, allegedly by suicide, at his ND Studios. The news sent shockwaves through the industry, leaving a void that will be hard to fill. As the Karjat Police rushed to the studio for investigation, the cause of his untimely departure remained shrouded in mystery.

Nitin Desai’s departure was even more poignant as it occurred merely three days before his 58th birthday, which would have been celebrated on Sunday, August 6. Many top Bollywood personalities were left mourning his sudden demise, paying tribute to the remarkable talent that graced their cinematic endeavors.
Born in Dapoli, Ratnagiri, Nitin Desai’s artistic journey began at the prestigious JJ School of Arts, where he honed his skills in cinematography. From humble beginnings, living in a 10×10 room with seven family members, he transcended the boundaries of his modest upbringing to create awe-inspiring sets for emperors and queens, turning celluloid into a canvas for his dreams.
