CHANCE RUN-IN “Shakira really impressed Tom,” says a source, when the stars met at a Formula 1 race in Miami on May 7.

No one expected to see these two together. But there they were on the starting grid at the F1 Miami Grand Prix on May 7— the biggest movie star in the world flashing his trademark smile and posing for photos alongside the biggest Latin music star in the world. After the race kicked off at the Miami International Autodrome, Tom Cruise and Shakira met up again, this time inside a VIP hospitality suite, where they were animatedly talking while watching the action below. “Tom took off his sunglasses and was leaning in,” an eyewitness tells In Touch. “They were really engaged in the conversation — and each other.”

The single stars hit it off, no question. “Shakira and Tom were both surprised about how well they got along,” says a source. “Their chemistry was easy. It was a natural fit. He even said a few words in Spanish, which really charmed her.” It was pure coincidence that the Top Gun: Maverick actor, 60, and the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer, 46, were both even at the race that day, but a welcome one. “They were very flirty — it was obvious. They couldn’t keep their hands off each other,” says the eyewitness. Adds the source: “Now Tom needs to make the next move.”
