She he was the toast of the nation when, as Jessica Ennis, she powered to an Olympic gold medal in the heptathlon on London 2012's historic Super Saturday. And no one was prouder than fiancé Andy Hill, her childhood sweetheart, whom she married the following year in a beautiful ceremony in Derbyshire's Peak District.

FLYING THE FLAG FOR COMIC RELIEF DAME JESSICA ENNIS-HILL ON FAMILY FUN AND HER TIPS FOR PARIS 2024

Ten years on, Andy and Dame Jessica EnnisHill are parents to son Reggie, nine, and daughter Olivia, six, and are still very much a winning team with laughter, says Jessica, helping to keep the romance alive.

"He's got a great sense of humour. I think that's something really important in a relationship," the retired athlete tells HELLO!.

Having met Andy, now a construction site manager, when they were at school together in Dore, Sheffield, Jessica is the first to admit that their path has been quite unconventional.

"We've had this incredible, crazy, unique journey together," she says. "When we got together, I hadn't really done anything within athletics and he's been on that journey with me - from not winning anything to winning Olympics and Worlds and out the other side. We've grown together in ten years married."

AHEAD BY A NOSE

Andy has helped keep her grounded through it all - and so do their two children, who remain unfazed by their mum's Olympic victory.
