Kingdom connects grid to largest global BESS project

SAUDI Arabia has completed grid connection of its landmark energy storage system (ESS) project with the nameplate capacity of 7.8 GWh.

The project will become the world's largest operational BESS
Once fully energised, it will become the world's largest operational battery energy storage system (BESS), marking a major milestone in the advancement of renewable energy in the Middle East.
The project spans three sites located in the southwestern regions of KSA, including Najran, Khamis Mushait, and Madaya.
