Clean energy at the crossroads

The global manufacturing landscape is being reshaped by the shift towards sustainable power sources such as solar, wind, and biomass.

By stabilising costs and improving predictability, renewable energy enables manufacturers to strengthen their position in domestic and global markets. Prashant Mathur, CEO, Saatvik Green Energy, says, "This transition is not only about reducing expenses but also about building credibility with environmentally conscious customers, now an essential driver of growth. For us, it has improved efficiency and reduced costs, leading to a significant increase in PAT and revenue."

MM Rathi, Joint President (Power Management), Shree Cement, says, "With 293.5 MWp of solar capacity across multiple sites, 56.3 MW of wind power, and extensive Waste Heat Recovery systems, renewables already account for nearly 60 per cent of our total electricity consumption. We are on track to cross 60 per cent in FY 2025-26 and firmly committed to our RE100 target of 100 per cent renewable electricity by 2030."
