Fuelled by AI and driven by sustainability and innovation, LTTS is charging ahead in the global engineering R&D race By Deep Majumdar
-
IN DISCUSSIONS on the Indian technology industry, IT services usually dominate the conversation, but engineering services continue to retain their own unique place in the tech industry too. L&T Technology Services (LTTS) for instance, seamlessly amalgamates digital and physical engineering, enabling its clients to develop innovative products. The company specializes in both hardware and software solutions, catering for global businesses with innovative research and design solutions, which differentiates it from traditional IT companies that primarily focus on software services.
With an annual revenue that is close to $1.5 billion and over 50,000 employees worldwide, LTTS has not only become a vital part of India's tech ecosystem but is also setting benchmarks in the global engineering and R&D space. “We are an engineering company first?” says Amit Chadha, Managing Director and CEO, LTTS. “We essentially lead with technology”, he goes on to say. The company aims for a revenue of $5 billion and to be the top engineering services provider globally, focussing on both innovation and growth.
Unlocking Potential in Small Towns
A significant part of LTTS's growth story lies in its focus on utilizing talent from India's smaller cities. Cities like Baroda, Mysore and Chennai have become central to LTTS's operations, with over 4,000 employees working from these regions. According to Chadha, these cities offer developing infrastructure and fewer challenges like immobilising traffic that often impact metropolitan areas.
