BUGATTI CHIRON TOURBILLON

The Jacob & Co. Bugatti Chiron Tourbillon comes across as the most dramatic example of automotive inspiration found in horology. The timepiece was developed in collaboration with the French high-performance automobile maker. It houses a manual-winding JCAM37 calibre which runs when the 578 components run together in synergy, and uses 51 jewels. Under the high-quality sapphire crystal glass sits the miniature representation of the W16 engine, where 16 pistons pump and the twin-turbos spin on demand, mimicking the engine of the Chiron hypercar. The movement features a 30-degree inclined one-minute tallying tourbillon that operates at 21,600 vibrations per second and has 60-hours of power reserve to keep the drama going once fully wound up. The movement is suspended inside the case with mounts that mimic the suspension of the Chiron.
