Say hello to the fifth generation of Lincoln's crown jewel, with updates inside and out. Our SUVOTY test vehicle is the long-wheelbase 2025 Lincoln Navigator L, with those extra inches congregating in the cargo area. We evaluated a top-trim Black Label Navigator with a lovely chocolate brown cabin, comfy seats, and oodles of space.
It has the wow factor of the 48-inch panoramic display from the Nautilus and heated, squared-off steering wheel to better see the screen. Our critical eyes see the seam in the two-piece screen and can't help but compare it to Cadillac's seamless version. We like the easily customized main screen but are less enamored with the move to digitize basic functions like adjusting the air vents, steering wheel, and mirrors. We aren't convinced Navigator buyers want to forgo tried and true controls.

Are pickups becoming caricatures of their former selves? They seem to grow larger and heavier with each successive redesign to the point where you need staircase tailgates just to load them. Swimming against this tsunami is the wee Ford Maverick, a pickup that allows normal-sized human adults to reach in over the side rail and grab items off the bed floor without even standing on tippy-toes. The climb into the bed is manageable without steps, and many tailgate partiers may find their feet resting on the ground. Revolutionary.
