The Indian road transport industry is highly competitive and fleet owners and transporters need to measure their success using Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

KPIS FOR MEASURING THE SUCCESS OF YOUNGEST FLEET OWNERS AND TRANSPORTERS

By tracking and analysing KPIs, young fleet owners and transporters can optimise their operations, improve efficiency and maximise profits. There are 10 KPIs that are particularly relevant for measuring the success of the youngest fleet owners and transporters in the Indian road transport industry and must be adhered to.

REVENUE PER VEHICLE

Revenue per vehicle measures the amount of revenue generated by each vehicle in a transport company’s fleet. This KPI is important for optimising fleet size and maximising revenue. To calculate revenue per vehicle divide the total revenue by the number of vehicles in the fleet.

For example, let’s say a transport company has 100 vehicles and generates a total revenue of Rs. 50,00,000 per month. The revenue per vehicle would be Rs.50,000 in the same period.

OPERATING EXPENSES

Operating expenses measure the costs associated with running a transport company such as fuel, maintenance and labour costs. This KPI is important for managing costs and optimising profitability. To calculate operating expenses add up all the expenses incurred by the transport company.
