By focusing on responsive customer service, and employee development with the integration of smart technology, CRUT has successfully addressed the root cause behind the dwindling number of public transport users before it came into existence. Over the years, Mo Bus has become the mobility lifeline for the citizens of the Capital Region of Odisha. In January 2023, the services were expanded to Rourkela, the Steel City and its hinterland. Further expansion has been planned in the major urban clusters of other districts of Odisha. Sanjay Kumar Biswal, General Manager Operations, CRUT stated, “The objective of CRUT is to deliver safe, reliable, user-friendly and accessible public transport to the commuters.” “After starting operations in Rourkela, we’re on the verge of expanding our operations in other districts of Odisha,” he said.
The popularity of Mo Bus is due to its commitment to reaching out to its commuters and ensuring a hassle-free travel experience every single time. In addition to mobilising its fleet and rendering extended service during Odisha’s biggest festival, Ratha Jatra or reaching people during natural disasters, CRUT has been at the forefront to aid in the rescue efforts by providing transportation and assistance to the victims and their families during challenging times. Cyclone Fani made landfall in Puri District on May 03, 2019, disrupting daily lives by severely crippling the infrastructure in 14 coastal districts of Odisha. CRUT mobilised its fleet within 10 days despite the odds stacked against it. Out of the 190-strong bus fleet, 140 were operational on 19 routes, providing connectivity to the residents in its area of operation. All the buses were plying on the scheduled routes by May 14, 2019 i.e. the next day.
