Villa 106 is not made of just brick and mortar. It is made of at least 5 distinct materials (white cast-in-situ terrazzo on floors, walnut wood on accents and furnishings, polished cement on walls, fluted timber on entrance door, staircase and ceilings, and unfinished steel used for the staircase), and Khosla + Anand's distinct style of tropical modernism. Spread across a generous footprint, the home's C-shaped layout circumscribes a central east-facing garden that ensures every room, public or private, interacts with lush greenery, natural light and cross ventilation. This judicious design strategy not only optimises Bengaluru's pleasant weather but also cultivates serenity amidst the fast-paced urban life.
