Lucky little Lottie settles down in Scotland

The BHWT 900,000th hen finds her new home

On a chilly day in bonny Scotland near the end of last year the British Hen Welfare Trust rehomed its 900,000th hen in a world-first, and is now firmly counting down to its millionth.

Lucky little Lottie, so called because she's effectively won the hen equivalent of the lottery, was rehomed from the charity's new Dollar site in Scotland on Sunday, 20th November.

Lottie has gone to live out her retirement with Monica Craig, who collected her with son Jimmy. Also at home is Monica's husband Jason, a Border Collie called Max and Howie the Shetland sheepdog.
