Carol McGiffin
‘It might come back – but life goes on’
The Loose Women panellist was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2014. She underwent a mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and recently admitted she was scared her breast cancer would return, after her routine monthly check-ups from February this year were cancelled due to the pandemic. One appointment, rescheduled for November, was cancelled again. ‘It’s quite likely it [cancer] might come back one day,’ said Carol, 60, despite getting five years all clear last November. Vowing not to let cancer rule her life, she admitted, ‘I will probably still die from cancer. But I don’t think it will be tomorrow,so I’m getting on with stuff.’
