In addition to its marinas, Falmouth Harbour offers a good anchorage with more space to swing in than its fabled neighbour English Harbour, says Kit Pascoe.
Both Falmouth Harbour and English Harbour are good anchorages on Antigua’s south coast, but if you arrive for Antigua Classics Regatta or Antigua Sailing Week, Falmouth will offer much more swinging room while you’re at anchor.
A large bay with three marinas, Falmouth nevertheless requires some concentration as it contains swathes of buoyed and unbuoyed reefs. If you’re in need of on-boat wi-fi, anchor closer to any marina than you would usually to pick up their paid-for bay services.
