Many photographers aspire to be paid to travel and photograph. But where exactly are we supposed to begin? There are no job openings for "travel photographers”, and there is no definitive roadmap to obtaining such positions. The National Geographic photographers are well-known, yet these opportunities are rare and far between. The good news is that as a travel photographer, you can earn money in a variety of ways. The key to making money as a travel photographer is to diversify your income streams. This is a must-read for anyone interested in learning how to make money as a travel photographer in 2022.
Magazines, Newspapers and Photojournalism
Working as a photographer for a news or media organisation might be a great way to pay your travels. News and media outlets are constantly on the lookout for photos from around the world to accompany their story. Photographers frequently sign contracts with news/ media organisations and are assigned to cover a specific country or region. You can also pitch your own story to a few different news organisations in the hopes of being sponsored. If you decide to do this, you'll need to come up with a compelling story and a compelling proposal. Although it is not as straightforward or secure as working under contract, it may be a very rewarding and intriguing experience.
