Public to get alerts for attacks and disasters

A NEW alert system will send mobile users texts to warn them of terror strikes or natural disasters.

The scheme is being introduced by the Cabinet Office and will be trialled in East Suffolk on Tuesday week.

And if it proves successful, it will then be rolled out nationally later this year.
