Kingfisher Calendar 2019

It is yet another New Year, and for the photography world, it is that time of the year when calendars of different genres and themes flood the market.

And the king of good times is back again, with its 17th edition. Photographed by ace photographer Atul Kasbekar, this year’s Kingfisher Calendar features four top models—South Indian actress Shubra Aiyyappa, beauty queen from Orissa Sushrii Mishra, supermodel Diva Dhawan, and Hayley Parr from the United Kingdom.

One aspect that differentiates Kingfisher Calendar from the rest is the choice of shooting location. This year’s calendar has been shot with the backdrop of the exotic Island of Sardinia in the Mediterranean Sea. Sardinia is a large Italian island with nearly 2,000 km of coastline, sandy beaches and a mountainous interior crossed with hiking trails. Its rugged landscape is dotted with thousands of nuraghi—mysterious Bronze Age stone ruins shaped like beehives.
