The Pastry Nook in Enid reigns supreme over northwestern Oklahoma’s sugar scene.

Let Them Eat Cake, Cookies, Pie, Etc.

THE SCENT OF whipped sugar and sweet batter warming in the oven draws visitors into the bakery in downtown Enid. Though the black door is sandwiched between two large display windows showcasing artfully designed, multitiered cakes, it’s a simple white banner with black lettering that identifies The Pastry Nook bakery and bistro. But behind the plain exterior is a carnival of color and tempting treats.

The slightest tug on the front door unleashes a wave of sugar, cream, chocolate, and yeast wafting through the air. Inside, a long, pink bar decorated with sweeping black curls displays dozens of glass domes protecting homemade patisseries. Cookies, cupcakes, scones, French pastries, loaves, and pies clutter the counter.
