He’s sold more than 75 million records worldwide and has a back catalogue of romantic hits that have won the hearts of countless fans the world over.

For four decades, Michael Bolton has become one of the most successful singers around, yet despite global adoration, he’s still searching for that special someone.

‘I am presently single,’ Michael reveals to New Idea. ‘I was signed to Epic Records when I was only 16, so my focus was quickly trained on making music.

‘Yes, being the lead singer in a band brought opportunities to meet all kinds of interesting women, but dating was all about fun in those days. Since then, my career and music have remained my first passion.’

Marrying in his early 20s, Michael and his ex-wife Maureen had three children, but split in 1990 after 15 years of marriage.

And while he’s rumoured to have dated big names such as Cher and Brooke Shields, his only confirmed long-term relationship was with Desperate Housewives star Nicollette Sheridan.

The pair dated not once, but twice, with their second attempt resulting in a 2006 engagement, which ended two years later.
