See You Soon...Bill

In the second week of March, when I was casually scrolling through my YouTube recommendations list I saw a TED Talks video with Bill Gates in the thumbnail.

See You Soon...Bill

The title of the video read, “The next outbreak? We’re not ready | Bill Gates”. Without any thought, I sat through the whole 8 minute long video. The end of the video left me sad and when I saw the video’s upload date. It was uploaded five years ago, quite stupefying. He predicted this long back? But it has fallen on deaf ears, with respect to the USA, the Corona virus is spreading. At this point, it has suddenly shown a spike in the amount of deaths. I just hope when you are reading this the situation there is normal again. Well, coming to the man who predicted that these viruses will be our new enemy and to tackle them we have to be prepared. And for even a country like Italy that is second in the healthcare ranking is struggling to keep it under control. Imagine the devastation a virus can cause. Honestly, why wasn’t his cry taken seriously? The man has done so many things that you hardly hear about it on the news, but today I want to take time out and acknowledge the fact for what he has provided to the weaker sections of the society. Bill Gates stepping down from the Microsoft board and him focusing all his attention towards philanthropy is one thing that the world needs right now. Influential people like him who can bring about a change in society are what we need. So, what has Mr. Gates been up to after stepping down?
