Hyundai Venue - First Drive Review
Exhibit|June 2019

We landed in Guwahati and straight away went to the location, Vivanta by Taj where the Hyundai Venue was waiting for us. The excitement level was high that without even checking in, we rushed to take a closer look at the Hyundai Venue, got its keys and finally the drive was flagged off from Guwahati to Shillong.

It was my first driving experience with the Venue and also my first time visiting Shillong, which is a spectacular hill station city in Meghalaya. What a perfect place for us to find out how the Hyundai Venue actually performs. Now, who exactly is the Hyundai Venue’s competition? This sub4-metre SUV is ready to take on the likes of Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford Ecosport, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV300. Not forgetting the fact that it’s the first connected car that is launched in India. This fits very well with Exhibit! We have rolled up our sleeves because in the coming months we will have all the Technology oriented cars driving our way.

HOW DOES IT LOOK?

One of the most eye-catching elements of this SUV is its cascading front grille. Hyundai Venue’s grille comes finished in chrome that would be liked by most customers in the country. Inclusion of a silver skid plate adds character to this sub-4 meter SUV. Unlike traditional SUVs, Hyundai Venue has a unique headlamps design. The Venue’s top portion is a sleek unit comprising of LED DRLs while the lower half offers projector headlamps. Besides these, the Venue also caters to a pair of fog lamps. So, it is a 10 on 10 on the Front design. Talking about the key highlights of Hyundai Venue’s side profile which include roof rails, chrome finished door handles and diamond cut alloy wheels. This portion might seem a bit familiar courtesy design cues that have been taken from its elder sibling the Hyundai Creta. Again a 10 on 10! The rear profile of Hyundai Venue brings together a longer windscreen, square-shaped LED taillights, integrated reflector inserts along with LED lighting. Placement of a silver skid plate helps complete the overall exterior design of this SUV. Though it looks more compact, the grandioseness of the front frill is definitely missing. We would have loved it if the rear design was a little more imposing. For the rear design, we’d rate it 6.5 out of 10. Overall, the exterior design scores are pretty good at this given price point.

IN-GAME VEHICLES WE WISH WERE REAL

Videogames never fail to transport us to a world that is far beyond our reach, yet controllable by the tips of our fingers (quite literally). While open-world games offer a vast, new lifestyle to explore, they also give us a taste of some unique vehicles. Well, calling them vehicles would be an understatement as these perform so many more tasks than just commute, but they’re some uber-cool pieces of machinery nevertheless. That said, here are some of the coolest in-game vehicles that we would love to test-ride!
