This graphic colourwork shawl is knitted in a summery cotton-silk yarn
MELISSA DEHNCKE MCGILL
Medusa Wrap

THIS TRIANGULAR wrap combines a stranded colourwork pattern with corrugated ribbing for a graphic, modern look. It's knitted in two shades of Noro's Sonata, a blend of cotton, silk, viscose and polyamide, which gives a lightweight, summery fabric with next-to-skin softness. Sonata is available in a palette of lustrous shades with a semi-solid appearance.

CHART NOTES

The chart pattern is worked in stocking stitch. When changing colours, twist yarns on the WS to prevent holes in the work, and carry the colour not in use loosely across the WS to prevent puckering. One row of the chart represents two rows of knitting. Read RS (odd-numbered) rows from right to left. Work foll WS rows as purl, matching colours from previous row.

WRAP

Using 3.5mm needles and yarn A, cast on 3 sts for left edge, 390 sts for chart pattern, and 3 sts more for right edge. 396 sts. Knit 4 rows.

BEGIN CHART

Row 1 (RS): K3A, pm, work Row 1 of Chart to last 3 sts, pm, K3A.
