It was the main Parent-Teacher Meeting, which was conducted at the end of the session every year. The parents were updated by the teachers about the performance of their children. Aman and Rohit were class friends, who were now going to be promoted to grade 3. Both had scored well in their exams and so their mothers were also happy. Suruchi and Parul (Aman's and Rohit's mothers respectively) happened to sit next to each other in the playground and got introduced to each other for the first time.
The weather was very pleasant and cool wind was blowing. Both started talking about their kids' performance. Their children were busy enjoying the swing rides and other games. Though Suruchi and Parul were sitting together and talking, both were simultaneously vigilant of the activities of their kids, who were full of energy and joy. As Suruchi was again and again looking at her watch, Parul happened to ask her– “Need to go somewhere?”
Suruchi: Hmm, there is a wedding ceremony at our neighbour's place next door. I told my neighbour that I would come slightly early and help her wherever needed, as her house is flooded with guests.
Parul: All right! You must call Aman then and leave on time. These are traffic hours, so it's better to start five minutes early.
Suruchi called Aman who was fully engrossed in jumping on the swings with Rohit and his other friends. At first, Aman did not listen to her. Then Suruchi said more loudly– “Aman dear, please come. We have to go home now.”
Aman, who was apparently in no mood to leave those enchanting fun and frolic moments, reluctantly said, “Ok mum…” But, then, after a pause, said from there only, “Mum, five minutes more please… please mumma!”
Suruchi smiled and nodded while Aman jumped in elation as if he had won some tournament!
After five minutes, Suruchi again called out, “Aman, son, five minutes over… Come, let's go…”
Aman, who was simply lost in looting the moments of enjoyment just didn't want to lose that wealth! So, another request came and in a yet more pleading tone, “Mumma, just last turn and then the game will be over. Five minutes more please, my lovely mum…”
