To curb this fast-paced deterioration in humanity, the foremost requirement is the control of the mind!
If today, we were to arrange different living beings on this earth in the decreasing order of I ferociousness and brutality, results would rather be shocking. Sadly, the answer would not highlight any wild animal or creature on the top, but the so called civilised man! On one hand, we are advancing at a very swift pace, when it comes to science and technology. However, on the other hand, we come across such incidents, which speak aloud of only one fact– that, 'humanity is at risk'!
Jane Stillwater, periodic reviewer of a weekly magazine, was once selecting from her wardrobe an attire to match with the animal-theme for her granddaughter's party. At that instant, when she looked into the mirror, she came to grips with a very fiery idea- “What could be better than wearing a T-shirt hanging in my wardrobe, signed with the words– 'I am a Human Being: the most dangerous predator on Earth'!”
Are we feeling offensive?
Well, studies reveal that more than 16 million people were killed in World War I. Following that, World War II came, which was no less in stats and witnessed nearly 60 million deaths. Saddening, isn't it? Almost 4% of the world's population at that time was brought to a tragic end due to rivalries, disputes, and animosity. True, wars are a threat to human life! However, today, what we see happening in society is a threat to 'humanity' itself!
In the present times, there is no dearth of such real-life incidences, which validate this bitter truth. Below are highlighted a few of them to refresh our awareness about the existing state of affairs, on reading which, our dormant inner being may receive a jolt! This jerk is necessary for us to wake up first and then shake everyone in our vicinity to restore the essential trait of our existence– 'humanity'.
