The Ghost Trio

THE atmosphere in Spooky Foundation School was far from pleasant. In the class for beginners, little ghosts sat huddled in their chairs waiting for their teacher Professor Coldblood, a tough taskmaster, to arrive and announce their grades.

There was a sudden stroke of lightning, a chilly wind blew in and the next moment a cloud of mist raged through the room, occupied the teacher's chair and materialized into the Professor. The students stared with gaping mouths. As always, Prof. Coldblood had made a bizarre entry!

Without preamble he said, “Three students, Softy, Goody-2-Shoes and Dumbo, dared to defy my orders and did not complete the summer training!"

The three students rose, shaking like leaves in a storm.

"Which subject do I teach?" bellowed the Professor.

"Sir, 'Scaring Humans'.”

"Do you know that you cannot be promoted till you have cleared this paper?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Then why didn't you finish the summer training? Look at Terror," he said, pointing to his favourite student. "He entered a movie theatre and scared everyone. The humans ran like crazy, resulting in a stampede. "Sneaky," he said, pointing at another student, "inhabited a mango tree and scared anyone who dared to pluck a mango. And what did you do?"
