Scarlett Johansson - ‘I Have Evolved As A Woman'

Scarlett Johansson has grown up with her Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) character Natasha Romanoff. She’s already portrayed the spy in seven movies, including Iron Man 2 (2010) and Avengers: Endgame (2019), and this month the star, 36, returns to the role in the standalone film Black Widow. Off camera, Johansson is married to Saturday Night Live writer Colin Jost, and co-parents her daughter Rose, 6, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac.

How do you feel about your character, and how she’s evolved over the years?

It’s been a unique and super-rewarding experience. I started in Iron Man 2 when I was 24 years old, now I’m in my mid-30s with a daughter. I’ve worked on myself as a person and as an actor to hopefully evolve in some ways. It feels like a unique opportunity to have a character’s journey partly reflect my own journey. I think this film is the culmination of all of that growth. I’m so proud of it.

How would you describe a character you have played so many times?
