Reinvent and disrupt yourself. Because if you won’t, someone else will. Nobody remembers people or brands who have been just following the mundane

Challenging The Global Brands

One of the largest markets for smartphones, India is witnessing the beginning of a silent revolution that will take huge shape in the days to come. According to a new study by the GSM Association (GSMA), by the end of the decade, India (along with China) will make up nearly half of all new mobile subscribers worldwide. While India will account for 27% (206 million), China will contribute 21% (155 million) of about 753 million new mobile subscribers expected to be added globally by the end of 2020.

We are proud that Micromax has been a partner in India’s growth journey and has contributed more than 150 million mobile users in India and this number is ever increasing. Our journey has a humble beginning, many upswings, cheerful moments, proud contributions and challenges as well. It’s a journey that has inspired us and pushed us to do better each day and put India on the global map. All through our beliefs, the innovation and a super performing team!

INNOVATION IS LIKE OXYGEN IN OUR BLOOD

When Micromax started, way back in 90’s, we were a software company. The market was booming and there was no plan to do anything else. Unless a day when my visit happened to a small village in West Bengal, seeing someone charge his mobile phone through a truck battery.

There were queues outside a roadside shop, with people waiting patiently to charge their phones for 25 rupees (40 cents) as inefficient phone batteries died frequently and villages lacked power supply.
