Dacia takes an ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ approach with its facelifted family SUV On sale Now Price from £13,995

- Neil Winn

Dacia Duster

IF YOU’VE EVER tackled a ‘spot the difference’ puzzle in a children’s quiz book, you’ll enjoy the challenge of identifying the changes between the refreshed Duster and the outgoing model. If you recognize the new Y-shaped LED headlights, LED indicators, tweaked grille design, elongated spoiler, and aero-optimized wheels, we’ll give you a point for each of them.

Instead of making big physical changes, Dacia claims to have focused its attention on improving areas where current Duster customers are dissatisfied – a refreshingly honest approach, we thought, and one that has even had an impact on the model’s trim structure.

Entry-level Access trim, for example, has been dropped due to a lack of interest. Instead, the range now starts with Essential, which has steel wheels and manual air conditioning. Alloy wheels are introduced with mid-rung £15,495 Comfort trim, along with front foglights, adjustable lumbar support for the driver, and an 8.0in touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone mirroring so you can use your phone’s apps via the car’s screen. Top Prestige trim, meanwhile, comes in at £16,695 with a larger 17in alloys, automatic air conditioning, and keyless entry.
