THE strapping Hearton Du Bois Halleux (Harold) thrilled the Hickstead crowds in the summer by jumping spectacularly into the history books with his Irish rider, 19-year-old Mikey Pender — the youngest ever winner of the Al Shira’aa Hickstead Derby.
Harold’s route to Hickstead was unconventional — his four previous international starts had all been in puissance classes. And this Christmas he’s due to bid to add Olympia to his illustrious high-jump record.
