Charities' pleas as virus hits incomes

Organisations are losing money as visitor centres close and shows cancel

EQUINE charities are among those to feel the financial impact of coronavirus, as they have to close doors and cancel events.

Charities say while the priority is keeping staff and equines safe, they rely on donations.

Horse Trust chief executive Jeanette Allen told H&H the charity is planning for “numerous potential scenarios” around staff.

“All those who normally drive a desk are competent and trained to help with the horses, so everyone is on standby,” she said.
