1 The wild turkey is native to North America. It can primarily be found in eastern and central areas of the United States, but some also live in Canada and Mexico.

3 There are six different subspecies of wild turkeys: Eastern, Osceola, Rio Grande, Merriam's, Ocellated and Gould's. Eastern is the most common one.

3 A female turkey is called a hen, while a male turkey might be called a tom or a gobbler. A baby turkey, on the other hand, is often referred to as a poult or a chick.
