SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW
Wedding Affair
|October - November 2025
Red is a colour of love, a colour of passion and a colour of forever. And with the reimagined approach of creative couture vision, it is the something “new.”
-
India is a country of many colours.
And yet, red is the one that is synonymous with brides in this country. A shade that has lived through centuries as the symbol of bridal grace. A North Indian bride may wear a lehenga of lush silk panels embroidered with glistening zardosi work, while a bride in Bengal is draped in six yards of Banarasi brocade adorned with golden zari. Their silhouettes may differ, but the constancy lies in the eternal colour of love—red. For Indian brides, it’s more than a mere hue of their wedding wear—it is heritage woven into fabric and an emblem of beginnings.
Despite being a classic, red has never remained stagnant. It has been reimagined, season after season, through the creative visions of couturiers who push its boundaries. This reinvention is not about altering its essence, but about preserving its timelessness by weaving it into fresh narratives. Because even the most eternal of classics risks becoming predictable if not renewed. For red to stay forever, it too must learn to evolve.
Monochrome Drama
There is a certain power in restraint, and nothing captures it more vividly than the allure of drastic monochrome fashion. A single shade, worn from head to toe, creates an unbroken visual symphony that is at once bold and refined. In bridal fashion, monochrome red takes on a heightened intensity, where the lehenga, dupatta and sometimes even the jewellery converse in the same hue, amplifying its emotional resonance.
