The Origins

Mahesh Babu, whose birth name was Mahesh Ghattamaneni, was born on August 9, 1975, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. He was born to be a star right from childhood. Being the son of Telugu superstar Krishna, Mahesh had always been exposed to the magic of cinema, and his debut as a child artist came at the tender age of four with a Telugu film called Needa (1979). After finishing his studies with a bachelor's degree in commerce from Loyola College, Chennai, he resumed his Telugu film career with a resolve to establish his own identity. By the early 2000s, Mahesh had become one of Telugu cinema's most promising stars; his boy-next-door image, fine acting technique and magnetic onscreen presence were able to steal hearts across the country.
