The alert came after a day of heavy rain and high winds brought disruption across the country, including the partial closure of the M4 Prince of Wales Bridge.
The M48 old Severn Bridge had already closed due to high winds.
Drivers faced long delays after National Highways identified several lighting columns which required immediate removal “due to risk of collapse”.
On Anglesey, emergency services were called after a roof was ripped off Holyhead Leisure Centre while staff and users were in the centre.
They were evacuated from the site. It is understood no one has been injured.
