Asansol South Police Station, under the Asansol Durgapur Police Commissionerate (ADPC), has initiated a case under non-bailable sections against Rabiul Islam, the current legal advisor of the Asansol Municipal Corporation (AMC) and a former MMIC of the AMC.

The allegations against him include beating female staff members of a reputed petrol pump in Ahram More, Asansol, and vandalising the pump along with others.

Earlier, Subir Saha, the owner of the Veteran Service Station, an Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) petrol pump owned by ex-servicemen and primarily staffed by women, filed a written complaint against Rabiul Islam and others, alleging that they vandalised the pump and assaulted the female staff.
