He killed her in front of their kids: Traffic cop gets life sentence for brutal murder of his wife

A GAUTENG traffic officer has been sentenced to life imprisonment for the premeditated murder of his wife, whom he shot multiple times in front of their two young children at her home in Mamelodi.
The Pretoria High Court sentenced 53-year-old provincial traffic officer, Zakhele Bennet Hlongwane, to life imprisonment for the murder of his wife, 33-yearold Tili Desire Ngobeni.
Gauteng regional spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Lumka Mahanjana said Hlongwane also received five years for pointing a firearm and two years for malicious property damage. The sentences will run concurrently, meaning he will serve life imprisonment.
