WOORE are top of NSSCL Division Five following their seven-wicket home success against Porthill Park fourths.

- CHRIS TRAVERS

The destination of the points was tilted heavily in the hosts' favour after they managed to dismiss their visitors for 110 in the first half of Saturday's contest. J Allman (34) led the Porthill Park batting, but A Kenvyn's 3-25, plus two wickets apiece for A Griffiths and L Kenvyn, ensured that promotion-chasing Woore put themselves in the driving seat.

Woore required just 20 overs to secure a seven-wicket win in their response.

M Burton top-scored with 49, with D Manning and J Birch chipping in with 18 apiece and S Askey making 14.

Leycett seconds were ahead of the game in their rain-affected encounter at Cheadle thirds.

Cheadle thirds had impressed with the bat early on as they stuck 247 all out on the board.
