23-year-old flies in to complete long drawn-out move
STOKE City are bringing in Tomas Rigo in what could turn out to be their final major piece of business of the summer window - even if Mark Robins hopes he is not quite finished yet.
Midfielder Rigo, aged 23, flew into England yesterday to finally complete a drawn-out move from Banik Ostrava for about £4million.
Banik had been desperate to keep hold of him as they bid to qualify for the league stage of the Europa Conference League but they lost in a playoff tie on Thursday night and he had the opportunity to say farewell to supporters over a microphone inside the stadium.
It will mean that Robins will have a couple of senior players competing for most positions, including players who can fill more than one role.
But Junior Tchamadeu is the only bona fide right-back with experience, albeit Ben Wilmot, Bosun Lawal and even Sorba Thomas have filled in there previously.
Youth graduate Jaden Mears has got his first taste there in the opening two rounds of the Carabao Cup.
