Judicial member K Baijunath issued a directive to the chief secretary and the additional chief secretary (Local Self-Government Department), urging the immediate implementation of a foolproof rabies treatment protocol to prevent such lapses in the future.

Baijunath highlighted the growing threat posed by the stray dog population across the state, calling the situation alarming.
