Teen caught with drugs at airport is spared jail

A PREGNANT teenager drug courier caught trying to import cannabis worth £225,000 through Newcastle Airport has been spared jail.

Daniella KanKam-Adu said she had agreed to bring what she originally thought were vapes back to the UK from Canada but which was in fact 22.5 kilos of cannabis.
The 19-year-old said she was to be paid £250 for her efforts and said she needed the money for a deposit on a home.
It was around 8.45am on March 3 this year that KanKam-Adu arrived at Newcastle Airport.
