Improved sick pay is 'better for businesses'

PLANS for improved sick pay will deliver “significant financial benefits” to businesses, a study has suggested.

A report by the TUC and WPI Economics estimated a £2bn a year net benefit to business from the Government's plans to deliver sick pay for all, paid from day one of sickness absence through the Employment Rights Bill. Costs to business from the reforms were estimated at £425m.
