TOWN BOSS SINGS PRAISES OF HATTERS MANAGER

- By STEPHEN PAGE

HUDDERSFIELD Town manager Lee Grant has praised counterpart Dave Challinor for the 'exceptional' job he has done at Stockport County ahead of the sides' League One encounter this afternoon.

The Hatters have finished no lower than fourth in each of Challinor's four seasons in charge, with two of those campaigns ending in winning the National League and League Two titles in 2022 and 2024 respectively.

County ended last season in third place in League One, but went on to be beaten in the playoffs at the semifinal stage by Leyton Orient.

The Hatters head into today's clash in eighth place, having picked up 16 points from their opening ten matches of the season.

Grant, whose side are three points and three places ahead of Stockport leading into this afternoon's fixture at the Accu Stadium, said at his prematch press conference of Town's opponents: "The football club's been well-backed in terms of ownership, and I think a lot of the things they've done, in terms of building the football club up, around stadium and training ground and everything's been excellent.
