Fears for Plympton's Christmas lights event

£5,000 NEEDED TO SAVE THE ANNUAL LIGHTS SWITCH-ON

EVENT organisers of the cherished Plympton Christmas Light Switch On event said it is at a “critical risk of cancellation.” The news threatens to leave the Ridgeway dark this festive season as organisers launched a final, urgent appeal to the community and local businesses in a bid to raise £5k to keep the lights on.

They stated that if the £5k Crowdfunder target is not met immediately, the 2025 event will not go ahead. The Christmas light switch on has been a staple on the Plympton calendar for years and is seen as a vital community celebration by many.
