'When they told me it was for Oasis it was just mind-blowing'

LOCAL GRAPHIC ARTIST WAS ASKED TO DESIGN MERCH FOR HIS HEROES

A PROUD Middlesbrough lad couldn't hold back the tears when he saw his designs on the Oasis merchandise for the band's tour for the first time.

Dan Wilson said growing up with his mates in Middlesbrough back in the day, Oasis was everything to them, they were all massive fans - so to be asked to create some of the designs for their merchandise was 'mind-blowing'.

Five of his designs have been used on a huge range of merchandise, from T-shirts to keyrings, and are also in the tour programme.

The 43-year-old, who began on the road to his career studying at Cleveland College of Art and Design, said he often designs posters and logos for bands, so when Warner Records contacted him in November last year and asked if he would do some work for them, he didn't think much of it.
