Mums of victims of paedophile tell court of trauma

THE heartbroken mothers of two teenage victims of paedophile Warren Laws have spoken of the devastating impact his crimes have had on their daughters.

Teesside Crown Court heard how, posing as a teenage boy, he incited his young victims to send explicit photographs of themselves and threatened to post them online.

The offender, who is actually aged 26, told one of the girls she was a “burden on her family” and detailed methods to take her own life.

Now, Laws is starting a lengthy stint behind bars after admitting a string of offences.

Christine Egerton, prosecuting, outlined how he had blackmailed one of his victims. Ms Egerton said: “He told her if she did not add him back... he would post her explicit images. He would send them to others and he would put them up on Twitter”
