A THUG tore a door from its hinges and threw it at his girlfriend’s head in a violent row after a wedding reception.
John-Paul Lynch had grabbed his former partner by the hair as she sat on the toilet following a row that erupted as they made their way home from a family wedding reception.
Teesside Crown Court, sitting at Teesside Magistrates’ Court, heard she was left covered in urine and responded by punching the 33-year-old in the face.
Victoria Lamballe, prosecuting, said the violence escalated further as she packed a bag to leave for the night. The court heard Lynch, of Clifton Street, Middlesbrough, punched a wall mirror and told her she “wasn’t going anywhere”.
Ms Lamballe said: “He pulled the bedroom door from the hinges before throwing it towards her.
